Responsibilities
The Opportunity:
The Senior Data Scientist role within PepsiCo R&D’s Data Science & Analytics (DSA) team holds a thought leadership position who designs and develops advanced statistical / analytics models. The Senior Scientist provides technical guidance and is involved in cross-functional collaboration with other R&D teams.Aside from providing Data Science expertise in high priority AOPs (e.g., Portfolio of the Future and Portfolio Transformation).
Your Impact:
As R&D Senior Data Scientist your functions would consist of- Leads the design of data collection protocols and testing to be followed during discovery and other phases of product development
- Provides technical guidance and validation of the Data Science development work to ensure model quality and accuracy
- Oversees the creation of quality metrics for the implementation and execution of Advanced Analytics projects, reporting them to key stakeholders
- Ensure the scalability, stability, and performance of code and models developed by the DSA team.
- Ensure technical alignment with the DSA team.
- Conduct research / develop methodologies on combining core statistical techniques with machine learning techniques in product development initiatives and for analytics.
Qualifications
Who Are We Looking For?
Education- Bachelor's / Master’s degree (or Ph.D.) in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience (for Master’s degree holder) in statistics and/or data science, including hands-on experience in experimentation, data analysis, model design, development, and execution.
- (Must / Preferred): Technical training and/or practical experience designing experiments for formulation or process optimization (response surface designs and mixture designs).
- Fluent in English and Spanish, this is a global role.
- Expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling (univariate and multivariate), machine learning tools, and data manipulation.
- Proficient in tools and languages like R, Python, Minitab, JMP, SAS.
