CIMMYT is seeking a professional with communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills for the position of ERP Project Manager to work on the Operations Chapter/ Knowledge Management and Information Technology department of CIMMYT.
The position will be based at CIMMYT headquarters in Texcoco, near Mexico City, (45 minutes from Mexico City).
Specific duties:
Project Planning & Execution:
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Adjust plans as needed based on progress, risks, and stakeholder input.
- Lead cross-functional execution across IT and user departments.
Progress Tracking & Reporting:
- Monitor project performance and critical path milestones.
- Provide regular updates to the PMO Manager, ERP Steering Committee, and key stakeholders.
- Highlight risks, delays, and required decisions in a timely manner.
Stakeholder & Team Coordination:
- Facilitate collaboration between Finance, HR, Business Services, Legal, and IT.
- Lead communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Build and guide high-performing project teams, including external consultants.
Budget & Financial Oversight:
- Manage program budgets and track expenditures against forecasts.
- Prepare financial reports and ROI assessments.
- Ensure adherence to CAPEX/OPEX controls and identify cost-optimization opportunities.
Vendor & Contract Management:
- Manage relationships with implementation vendors, integrators, and SaaS providers.
- Negotiate contracts and oversee SOWs, SLAs, and MSAs.
- Monitor vendor KPIs and enforce escalation procedures when needed.
Risk Management & Quality Assurance:
- Maintain structured risk registers and implement mitigation strategies.
- Oversee quality assurance including UAT planning, cutover, and stabilization phases.
- Ensure project deliverables meet defined quality standards.
Change Management & Adoption:
- Design and implement change management strategies to drive user adoption.
- Coordinate training programs in collaboration with business units and HR.
- Set up post-implementation support structures and feedback loops.
Process Modeling & Data Integrity:
- Support user departments in modeling and optimizing business processes.
- Oversee data cleansing and migration to ensure accuracy and integrity.
Documentation & Governance:
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Ensure alignment with governance frameworks and decision-making protocols.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent is required; Prosci or other Change Management certification is a strong advantage.
- 7 years of experience in ERP program management, digital transformation, or large-scale IT project leadership, ideally within international or matrixed organizations; experience in the non-profit or research sector is a plus.
- Proven, hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, particularly Finance & Operations (F&O) and HRMS modules.
- Track record of successfully managing full ERP implementation lifecycles, from requirements gathering through go-live and post-stabilization.
- In-depth knowledge of Agile, PMP, or PRINCE2 methodologies, with practical application in complex enterprise environments.
- Proficiency in project management tools and ERP systems, with a strong focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and integrated digital platforms.
